News Writing and Reporting
During my nearly three years in Savannah, Georgia, I contributed my journalistic skills to both SCAD and local Savannah news outlets. SCAD District is the Savannah College of Art and Design's online newspaper run by students for the SCAD and extended Savannah community. From when I first started with District in the fall of 2015 through May of 2018, I wore the hats of Staff Writer, Assignment Editor, Chief Assignment Editor, and Editor-in-Chief. This piece was my first journalistic "triple threat." I attended the Rape Crisis Center's annual "Walk a Mile in her Shoes" benefit and took photos, shot and edited video, and wrote the article to tie all the elements of the event together in a single piece of content.
